Hello and thanks for stopping by. We are Jason and Trisha Speer and we own the historic Roxy Theatre in fantastic Cascade, Idaho

The Roxy was built in in the late 1930's and was open for its first show on July 14 1939. The building has gone through tough times in the past and was closed down for over 10 years when the previous owners, John and Jenny Stanford, saw a jewel sitting here on Main Street. They bought the theatre and poured their love, sweat, and tears into it. They restored the old girl to her majestic glory. She was the most advanced theatre in the pacific northwest in 1939 and once inside anyone can see why. The theatre has two main functions in life. First, to show first run hollywood movies. Second, to provide a place for the performing arts. This ranges from national headliner comedians to Nashville singers to the local school and thier Drama Plays. We are the comunities theatre.
My wife and I are new to the movie theatre life but we are loving every minute of it. In 2007 the previous owners John and Jenny Stanford took a much need retirement after their son graduated from Cascade High School. Left with the option of having the building sold to a developer who was not wanting to be in the movie buisness, Trish and I decided to save the Roxy Theatre and continue on the Standfords dream. At times it can seem like a nightmare, but the residents of Valley County are great and many are Friends of the Roxy. It is an ellite group but any one can join. All that is needed is a donation to preserve The Roxy.
Check out our live shows page. Roy and Tami at The Chief helped The Roxy by catering a bar at most shows until due to trying times they were forced to close The Chief for good. We are very sorry and will miss our good friends very much. We are currently looking for a way to provide this service again to our patrons and friends. This story is a sad reminder of the need to support our local buisnesses. Money spent outside of our town is hurting your friends. Everyone is trying to get by in these tough times. We all have to help everyone. Remember every dollar you spen in your local economy will turn over 4 times before it leaves town. This will help us all in the long run. Think of what we could do if we all went and spent some money at a local store. At The Roxy, we are cheaper then going to Boise and well we think we give you better service. As always PLEASE, PLEASE give us your ideas and thoughts and, please support your local stores and Chamber Members.
Please join us in making The Roxy the best place to see entertainment. See your movies and live shows here in our home town. The Roxy, come watch the stars with us!!
Did you know our buisness cards are modeled after the Golden Ticket in Willey Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It took Charlie to a world of wild candy. We wish we could tell you the same would happen with our card, but, well, it can get you two free popcorns on the back of the card.

MORE HISTORY
The Roxy Theatre in Cascade, Idaho was, and still is, the most beautiful building in Cascade, Idaho. Although, the winters have been hard on the outside of the building including the marquee, The inside is is still as grand as the day it first opened. Most of the interior is original from its opening day Friday July 14, 1939 (just ask the owner to point the original details).
The Roxy was designed by Hugo Claussen of Salt Lake City to be a wonderful blend of old Hollywood glamour and small town charm. It was the most technologically advanced theatre built in Idaho at the time, at the amazing price of $25,000. With state-of-the-art projectors and a sound system to match, the Roxy was the ultimate movie experience. Don't let the age of the building fool you!
